The Gospel – Salvation

  1. Accept what God has said. God declares all mankind dead in sin.

To be dead in sin causes spiritual as well as physical separation from God. Every human being from Adam and Eve to the present is born in this condition of being separated from God and is in dire need of saving from this state. Genesis 2:16,17; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1

  2. Recognize your condition before a just and holy God.

God has provided man with His righteous standards called the law. Since the first man created, all have rebelled against God. Our nature since birth is to reject, repel, and rebel against God and His Word. This will one day bring a just judgment from God in hell. Galatians 3:10; Matthew 10:28; Matthew 25:41; John 3:36

  3. Believe in God’s one and only provision.

God desires to save sinners from their fate and restore them to a right standing with himself. God has chosen to save the lost sinner by taking their just judgment of death upon Himself. This was accomplished by God (Jesus Christ) taking human form, living a sinless life, dying by crucifixion (in great torment on a cross), being taken down and buried. Thus the sins of believers have been paid for and forgiven in full by Jesus. After 3 days of being buried, Jesus Christ conquered death and bodily rose from the grave to offer all who put their faith in His salvation an eternal life with God. John 3:16,17; John 5:24; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 6:23

  4. Put your trust in Jesus to save you.

Salvation is wholly by God’s grace (unmerited, undeserved love) based solely on the person and finished work of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of any religion, human merit or work. You must repent – turn from a life of unbelief and sin – to believe (trust) in what Jesus Christ has done for you. Those who do this then call on Jesus (prayer) confessing their sin and need of saving and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. John 14:6; Romans 10:9,10
